Learning does not end with age. Just because we have finished our education from an educational institute such as school or college does not mean that we are self-sufficient and acquire all the knowledge to survive till the end of life. Three education types help us with growth and define the person we are today.

Formal Education

One of the education types is “Formal Education.” This includes regularly attending an educational institute. Having a formal education is very important for attaining knowledge about different subjects such as language and science, and for personal grooming.

A classroom is a learning area where different skills are taught such that in the future, the students can use those skills to make an earning. Furthermore, it is also essential that they are trained to perform different tasks that might come across in the future, such as conducting a meeting with colleagues.

It is a systematic learning process with a proper schedule, trained teachers, and a chronological grading system. It teaches students to be regular and punctual by conducting activities such as standing in straight lines in the morning assembly at 8 a.m. sharp. Formal education is provided on many levels, ranging from kindergarten for children of age six to Ph.D. for people who have attained at least seventeen years of formal education beforehand.

Informal Education

Other education types include Informal Education. From the first day we are born, we observe the surroundings and continue to pick and learn things. We see and monitor our home environment, and eventually, many adopt many habits from our parents and siblings.

Moreover, we learn many things from the daily activities we perform. A simple example of this is going grocery shopping and bargaining for the prices or playing cricket with the children on the street and learning how to calculate the score and the game’s rules. It is a natural learning process with no boundaries or set syllabus. It includes learning things from the television, radio, or the people around us.

Non-formal Education

Lastly, non-formal education is also one of the education types. Apart from the formal education we receive from colleges and universities, we might need to acquire more training and knowledge about another field. This may include going to an institute for religious education or taking a short course per requirement.

Taking gym classes or language courses can help you a lot. Non-formal education enables you to broaden your horizon and learn new things. It might regulate you and provide a unique skill set or habit. This type of education has no age constraint and is readily available for all people.

Education is essential

No matter what type of education you opt for, learning is a process that never ends. Humans tend to pick everything that we observe and then apply those things or techniques in our everyday activities. Hence, never let that mind rot and try to discover new things because more knowledge never hurts. Continue to give and take in terms of knowledge and education.
